I am a textile student who is led by process and material. My area of focus lies within knitting, specifically by hand but not exclusively. My practice focuses on converting waste materials into beautiful innovative textile outcomes. Experimentation is an important part of my creative process and can be credited to how many of my designs are realised.
My work demonstrates a blend of old and new, employing reclaimed and upcycled materials that are gentle to the planet, in striking variations of colour created through natural dying methods. By upcycling materials that already exist, I am implementing a closed-loop design concept, where nothing is left to waste and preventing a material that can last a lifetime from unnecessarily going into a landfill. I aim for my work to show the beauty of nature while subtly raising concerns for the future of our planet.
