Rosie McGrath is a visual artist working and living in Dublin, Ireland. The work is inspired by the process of recording and documenting natural phenomena, focusing mainly on light. Using a range of mediums in the work, the main focus of the outcomes use intaglio, photography and video.
Recognising that it is light that allows us to see, it is how it shapes and colours everything that we see with our eyes that is of most interest. How light creates depth, mood and colour is examined and explored. In the work, McGrath attempts to take on the role of the facilitator in the hopes of engaging the viewer with the limits and wonder of human perception. Describing her work as light sculptures, they are direct manifestations of the physical, primal experience of the perception of phenomena.
