'A Brother' is a sustainable design project created by Evan Duffy. Fashion is generally perceived as one of the worst industries with regards to environmental impact. As the climate worsens, a certain responsibility lies on future designers to change the tired ways of their respective industries. This desire for change is 'A Brother’s' primary principal, there is a drive to explore exciting eco-friendly production methods, season after season.
The 'Leave No Trace' collection was inspired by Duffy’s time in the scouts. The collection features a tongue and cheek approach to gorpcore, drawing inspiration from old military wear, trail signs and pioneering. The garments produced utilise vintage Czechoslovakian army aprons, vintage jumpers, recycled calico and recycled cotton yarn as their primary materials. Up-cycling is a key feature throughout this collection, highlighting how premium garments can be crafted from vintage or discarded clothes.
