The 'Ryland' collection is a womenswear collection inspired by my grandfather, his love of travel and his many other interests. Fashion trends that were apparent in his lifetime, many of which were evident in his old photographs together with the ragged edged stamps from his stamp collection, have influenced the choices of finishings and silhouettes in my illustrations.
The layering of fabrics and decorative details, along with the ruching and ruffling of different weights of fabrics have been incorporated into the designs. Oversized and tightly fitting garments were combined to create distinctive pieces. Creating an all black collection, influenced by old black and white photographs is the essence of this timeless, bespoke collection.
