This project focuses on the interaction between the fabricated and the organic, and the dissolution of these boundaries over time. Humans are a force which forms parallel landscapes to those created by nature, and in their attempts to mimic their surroundings, or distinguish themselves from them, ultimately lead to syntheses of human and world. Wires become roots, concrete becomes rock. People cutting holes in a fence to create a shortcut is just as natural as a river eroding the soft stone along its course.
Drawing attention to the normally invisible mundane environment, photogrammetry has been used to convert several real landscapes into digital sculpture. Generative Adversarial Networks were trained on images taken around each location, and selected images are used as the basis for camouflage patterns designed to be uniquely suited to each environment.
