My work looks at aspects of obsolete currencies with a clear focus on the Soviet ruble.
'1991' is a publication that documents the connection between politics and money. It is an account of the last year of the Soviet Union (1991) and hence the last years of the Soviet ruble.
Typefaces can act as souvenirs of place, or certain times gone by. The typeface I have created is a blend of found type from the Soviet ruble notes which are representative of that particular time.
'Impermanent Currencies' tells the story of three currencies going out of use in Lithuania over the period of 30 years.
