‘Clouded Visions’ is a fashion knitwear textile collection deriving from personal experience, representing how at times the sky was not a constant feature in my daily life. Isolation can have various effects on the mind, and placing emphasis on the beauty of the sky gave me moments of peace throughout the year. A beautiful sky can often act as an uplifting, constant and grounding moment in today’s chaotic world.
‘Clouded Visions’ focuses strongly on cloud formations and the qualities associated with individual cloud types. Furthermore, the often abstract horizon introduces subtle sunny tones along with the calming blue and white colour story. I primarily utilised thin yarns, transparent qualities and wavy layering features to create modern and unexpected textiles. The use of single and double bed knitting machines and hand knitting, combined with subtle elements of transfer print and fabric manipulation also makes up this collection.
