I am at the beginning of an exciting journey as a practicing visual artist. Working in mixed media, the themes of research in my work shed light in hidden corners that reveal both unexpected beauty and hope or expose overlooked injustice. Experiments with process, the application of paint and ink with a roller or brush, draws on monoprint techniques. The story in the marks and colours on the page are revealed, working in with ink pen over layers with lino print and collage. Processes used include etched layers with photo transfer and painting from photographs in acrylic.
The emotional and historic footprint that people leave on landscapes and cities is a source of great fascination. The trace of other worlds and times gone by inspire the ethereal atmosphere evident in my work. Layers of process and experimentation are at the centre of this work.
