I always had a passion for working and practicing in the field of visual art. With my father being a photographer, I was introduced to the skills of photography from an early age. In particular the process of transforming large black and white photographs into colour images by adding oil based materials, a skill I eventually mastered. To please my parents I qualified as an electrician, and it is only in recent years that I could follow my passion and devote myself to visual art. In 2005, I became a student at IADT, obtaining a certificate in Art, Television and Video Production. In order to gain more knowledge and experience and learn how to work with my hands in ceramics, I decided to continue my 2D and 3D studies in visual arts practice at NCAD. I believe that working in art is a form of meditation; being able to capture the beauty of nature in a true, life-like image.
