My view of the World

Katerina Hrubesova

She/her

"It all started by stepping out of nowhere, taking a deep breath and then opening my eyes to the world around me…"

My art practice starts with the direct observation of ordinary places which develop into paintings that evoke feelings and inspire imagination in the viewer. The paintings are inspired by natural sources in my local area. I use ink to record the shapes, lines and patterns I experience when looking at nature. These are then applied to my paintings.
In a sense, my paintings are an entrance into my inner self and reveal my viewpoint on the world around me. The freedom and strangeness I find in my work has a positive impact on me.
