My project’s theme is ‘stolen artworks’. Theft occurs in aspects of society, be it Government or criminal organisations. Even the everyday person is tempted to take something that's 1 of 1, which looks incredibly beautiful and is hugely valuable.
There are many moments in art history of thefts that the average person or even a person with knowledge of art history wouldn't be aware of. These thefts are now a part of these artworks and dictate how famous and valuable these artworks can become.
Some of these stories are humorous, and some can be upsetting but there needs to be an understanding of what took place within these stories, to show the similarities with these stories, and uncover the hypocrisy within the art world. That is what I hope to achieve with these projects.
