MESH

He/him

My current work focuses on jewellery that looks at pattern and textures that derive from material play and workshop experiments. I explored embossing onto metals with fabric textures and mesh grid materials. I combined these samples with various paints to add colour or detail that would give the materials a new dimension. I cut shapes from the samples and layered them to form pictures and create visual interest; essentially “meshing” the materials and workshop play together.
With the study of fabric textures and the impressions that the linear grid patterns created, I began to construct assemblages and design pieces that would bring focus to the sample outcomes from the experimentation process. This collection features bright primary coloured mesh material and embossed silver in combination with geometric forms.
