'Vegan 101' is a textile collection focused on three main aspects: sustainability, eco-friendly design and natural fibres. It is based on the concept of designing to protect the environment and the people and animals that live in it.
Vegan 101 incorporates experimental design with natural plant yarn and dyes derived from organic matter such as indigo, avocado, and pomegranate. The yarns used in this project include cotton, linen, paper and recycled plant fibre yarn which are dyed with Ikat technique – a traditional Indonesian dyeing technique used to pattern textiles through the use of binding and resist dyeing.
