Aoife O'Callaghan

She/her

During the pandemic, I moved away from physical elements of artwork such as painting, collage and sculpture and focused on the more digital side of things, particularly video. I used mediums that were readily available to me, in this case it was film. The work is a representation of the limitation of language and the missing parts in between. It portrays what is lost in translation of transcribing thoughts and ideas. Similar to painting, the beginning process starts with an image from the imagination. The final stage involves editing multiple non-linear segments of footage into a more immersive coherent piece.
