Candyland Collection in a Box

Created in the context of a global pandemic, 'Candyland Collection in a Box' is a celebration of childhood, imagination and freedom. The collection is the outcome of a second year final project by Nala Ghantous who is now a final year Fashion Design student at NCAD.
Due to the limiting circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, the collection did not come to fruition beyond sampling on the stand. This seemed a shame and for my Collaborative Practice module, I approached Nala with a proposal to bring the collection to life in an alternative way. This box design is the result of our collaboration, providing a multi-sensory, embodied experience into Nala’s world of Candyland.
Through this box, with its various elements that are sweet on the eye, tongue, ear and touch, you can enjoy the playfulness of youth and the fun of fashion. The box provides a timely source of escapism from screens and general chaos.
